Lever corkscrews are essentially the cream of the crop when it comes to corkscrews. These corkscrews are often given as gifts and mainly seen in residential applications, although still very useful for commercial applications. They provide the fastest, easiest method of cork removal as far as cork screws go. To use a lever corkscrew, pivot the top handle and place the corkscrew on the mouth of the bottle. Once the handles are in place, gripping them will effectively grip the neck of the bottle, keeping it steady. Moving the lever back to the closed position inserts the wire worm into the cork, and moving the lever back once again to the open position effectively brings the cork out of the bottle. And don’t worry—the cork is easily removed from the lever corkscrew simply by moving the lever back and forth once more whilst gripping the handles. Simple enough, right?
