Finally, make sure you store the scoop outside of the ice bin. If bartenders or employees are constantly reaching their hands into the ice, there is a greater likelihood that germs or bacteria will transfer, invisibly contaminating the ice. Instead, attach an ice scoop holder to the wall or to the side of the ice bin. This gives the ice scoop a place to rest and stay safely away from the potential of contaminating your ice.
