Cordial Glasses
Sort By:
Cordial glasses usually resemble wine glasses or goblets in design, but they are noticeably smaller and typically have a smaller stem. They usually hold somewhere between two and four ounces of liquid. Usually they are not filled to the brim with liqueur, only about halfway. Believe it or not, the word “cordial” actually refers to a non-alcoholic beverage, something more like a sweet fruity drink instead.
Most cordial glasses are clear glass or crystal, but some come tinted with colors. This can add a bit of flair to the dining experience, but usually clear glasses are considered more sophisticated. Cordial glasses may also have handles on the side, similar to a coffee mug but on a smaller scale. Some restaurants and bars might even garnish these after-dinner drinks with whipped cream, fruit or a cocktail umbrella for effect.
