Brandy Snifters

Brandy is essentially a distilled wine. As brandy grapes are distilled, they achieve a higher proof than wines do, which results in a more alcoholic spirit. That being said, brandy glass must be designed in certain way. In fact, brandy snifters are made in a similar way as red wine glasses. The bowl of the brandy snifter is round and wide on the bottom, easily fitting into the palm of your hand. The warmth of the hand is actually meant to gradually warm the brandy. The bowl of the glass narrows at the top, gathering the brandy’s aromas, also called the nose, at the upper section of the glass.
