Beer Sample Glasses

Beer sample glasses are smaller versions of beer glasses, designed to offer people a small tasting of beer. Now, most people want to order a full pint's worth of beer to accompany a meal, a game-time event or a happy hour session. For those who are indecisive, or want to try a taste of a new brew before buying a whole 14 ounces, the beer sample glass provide the perfect vessel. Sample glasses are small, usually two- to four-ounce cups, made for tasting. With regular beer glasses, the beer is meant as a full beverage. With sample glasses, however, the beer is meant to be offered as a small taste. This is useful whenever bar managers introduce new brews to the tap. In this case, the clientele may be unfamiliar with the type of beer and like a small taster before ordering a full glass. Typically, servers or bartenders will offer customers a taste in a sample glass if they notice a customer is particularly confused or indecisive, or if the customer asks directly about the taste of a certain beer. Sample glasses are also useful when it comes to serving flights of beer. In this context, a flight refers to a grouping of drink samples, usually three to five different samples of a few ounces each. A flight can include tastings of beer or wine, allowing the customer to try them in conjunction with one another, comparing the tastes and even sharing them between a group of people. Sample glasses provide a good way to do this, due to their size and capacity.
