Product Details

The 15" x 14" Rectangular Economy Pizza Stone (STONE14) is a rectangular, ceramic stone used for baking pizzas.  Baking stones are especially ideal for baking pizzas on because they distribute heat much more efficiently and evenly than metal, so while a metal tray or pan may burn the edges of a pizza while leaving the center cold, a pizza stone will cook the pizza evenly and thoroughly.  This durable and economic ceramic pizza stone measures fifteen inches (38 cm) by fourteen inches (35.6 cm) by three eighths of an inch (1 cm) thick.

Maintenance and Use Instructions:

  • 15" x 14" Rectangular Economy Pizza Stone (STONE14) should be heated up with the oven.  A cold pizza stone should be put into a cold oven and the oven and stone should heat gradually together.
  • 15" x 14" Rectangular Economy Pizza Stone (STONE14) should be cooled down with the oven.  Do not remove stone from hot oven and place on cold surface. 
  • The 15" x 14" Rectangular Economy Pizza Stone (STONE14) can be used at a temperature of up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.  Avoid using 15" x 14" Rectangular Economy Pizza Stone (STONE14) with a grill, temperature is harder to control and can become too hot.
  • Rinse with a wet, soft cloth prior to first use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing product, wonderful price My original stone was from a high end store & cost 3 times as much as this one.  I purchased this one over a year ago & use it multiple times a week.  When my military kids were in with the grandkids, we made multiple pizzas on mine and they loved it. Sent them 2 of these wonderful stones so the teens can delight in making home made pizzas that are way cheaper, way healthier & way faster than delivery.  I leave mine in the oven all the time, it's ready for pizza, garlic bread & grilled sandwiches without the grill pan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I make bread about every other day. I read many articles about pizza stones before I considered buying this product. It does all that it’s supposed to do and then some. I leave the stone in my oven because I had read that it helps distribute the heat better and it does. Everything I have made so far has come out so perfectly. I recommend this product to even the most casual cook; you truly can see the difference in what you’re baking.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Both of these pizza stones cracked, I followed the manufacturers recomendation and only washed the stone with water and then put it in the oven @ 250 degrees for an hour to ensure any moisture in the stone had evaporated but when I heated the oven to 450 degrees to make a pizza the stone cracked down the middle. The second stone cracked after I placed it on the oven for future use and never used it to bake a pizza before it cracked.

This stone rocks I bake everything on it pizza, calzones, biscuits, crescent and dinner rolls.... anything that is a bread type goes on it and it works fantastic. Just remember heat it slowly, let it cool slowly never wash with soap and keep it level and it will last for ever!! I will be getting more sizes soon.

I would give 5 stars but there wasn't any instructions on how to use it.  I'm new with using pizza stones so I didn't know that you wasnt suppose to wash it or not to.  I didn't know if you was to season it or preheat it before using.  But after some research I been using it with no problems yet.  Cant say for sure if it is the right way or not but I been getting great use from it and will buy another one if something happens to this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The stone makes the job of cooking the dough base uniformly. It is easy to handle and it is possible to wash it using a dish washer machine (hard to quite some stains though, the more you use it the harder). I have used this rectangular and also circular stones, after all given it is the same material, the difference is just a matter of taste, depending on the shape you want to give to your pizza. If you are beginner trying to make the dough rounded, probably this rectangular shape will be a better choice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Well, it WAS inexpensive The pizza stone was only about $12.   It came with no instructions about how to care  for it or prepare it for use, etc.  The first time it was used, which was in a 450 degree oven, it essentially exploded into about 10 pieces.  We don't know exactly know  why  but perhaps the temperature of the pizza dough hitting the hot stone had  something  to do  with it. The pizza crust, however, was excellent (after we picked out the pieces of the pizza stone).

What is the best way to clean a pizza stone like this one?

To wash a pizza stone like this American Metalcraft Economy Pizza Stone (STONE14) , you should avoid using any soap, because it will absorb some of the flavoring and could make all of your pizzas taste like the detergent that you used. Warm water and a mild abrasive pad will clean the stone enough without compromising the seasoning that has already been done to the stone.
