Q: Can this cover be turned upside down, placed on a counter, and used for a bowl?
A: This American Metalcraft cake stand cover cannot be turned upside down to be used as a bowl because the knob used to grab and lift the cover from the stand will not allow the lid to sit in a stable manner when upside down.

Q: What type of material is the cake stand constructed from?
A: The Cake Stand & Cover (19SET) by American Metalcraft is shipped as three pieces. The cover is constructed out of break resistant heavy clear plastic. The two piece stand is made from bright stainless finish metal.

"I already owned one of these and I was glad to order another. It is what I thought it was and I also just came back from a cruise where I noticed that all their desserts were displayed on these as well. "I love this to display my cupcakes at farmer's market! Sales are up thanks to this pretty display! I love the silver pedistal. I also like the fact that the top is plastic so I can take it to market and have less chance of breakage. It is well made and yet very pretty."

"Gave this to my daughter as a gift. She was thrilled. It is very attractive and can be used for multi layer cakes. Very "professional" looking. Cupcakes look very special on the high stand. She liked the plastic dome, light and easy to care for."

"I love this cake stand and cover. The cover is tall enough to cover my highest 3-layer cakes. It is easy to clean and looks like new after every wash. It is very sturdy and easy to carry to different events. Definitely worth the money and I would buy another one and hope to soon."

"Big enough to keep items on a dinner plate and the cover fits with room to spare. Was looking for a lightweight cover, not heavy glass as my Mom is older and not too strong anymore. Looks very nice on her counter."
